Temporary Service Interruptions - ScienceDirect

Elsevier’s SciVerse (ScienceDirect) suite will be undergoing an upgrade this coming weekend (March 17, 7:30 AM to 8:30 PM CDT), which may result in temporary service interruptions. It is possible that users may experience temporary service disruptions while accessing SciVerse at these times. Upgrades to ScienceDirect include: increasing search speed and article rendering; solving issues with PDF downloading and RSS feeds. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Proxy server switchover on Tuesday

We will be switching to a new proxy server on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. and there will be a 15 minute interruption as we make the change.

Accessing digital resources from off campus

The Library is experimenting with a new method of logging into the proxy server, which provides off-campus access to databases, ejournals, and other digital resources.

IUS Library temporary closure

Owing to recent flooding, the Institute of Urban Studies library collection will be closed until further notice, when it will reopen at the Richardson College for the Environment later this fall.

JSTOR Maintenance
-
On Friday, September 9 and Saturday, September 10, JSTOR will be performing site maintenance that requires a “read-only” period for these two days. During this scheduled maintenance, users will be able to search, browse, and access and download PDF files for content in JSTOR. They will not be able to save citations, reset passwords, create or update MyJSTOR accounts, or purchase articles.

SciFinder Scholar Moves to Web Version Only

All access to CAS databases through the SciFinder desktop client will be switched off on June 30, 2011, as SciFinder moves to web version only. The web version of SciFinder is accessible through the Library Databases portal and requires user registration.

New Database Added - Brill's New Pauly (Der Neue Pauly)
-
New Pauly Online includes all the volumes of Brill’s New Pauly and Der Neue Pauly, and is a dual-language (English and German) reference database. This encyclopedic database is a standard work for the study of the ancient world, and is interdisciplinary in nature.

There have been some minor changes to the Database News Feed. If you have previously subscribed to the Database News Feed through an RSS Reader you will need to subscribe to the current feed by scrolling to the bottom of Database News and clicking "Subscribe to this Feed".

Le Petit Robert is an authoritative French dictionary that contains all content found in the print work of the same name, as well as additional content. This resource contains 60,000 words, 300,000 meanings and 185,000 use examples.

The Library has acquired Sage's Deep Backfile. This collection features more than 380 titles from volume 1, issue 1 to present.
