Your PIN is a number which you create.
You will be asked for a PIN (Personal Identification Number): when you view your patron record in the Library catalogue, place a hold on a book in the Library catalogue, or access Course Reserves.
If you have never created the PIN before, enter a 4-8 digit number (it can be a combination of lower-case numbers and letters; no upper-case letters or special characters). You will be asked to enter it again. If you get the message "invalid PIN", you may have created one earlier, and will have to go in person to the Circulation Department to have it deleted, or call 204-786-9808.
If you get the message "Your PIN is not complex enough to be secure. Please select another one," please be sure the PIN does not contain simple patterns such as:
If there are more than five failed attempts to log in with the same barcode within one minute, the system will block access to the account for one minute.
You can click on Live Help and ask for assistance with your PIN.
Your PIN number should not be confused with the 14-digit barcode number on your patron ID card. The PIN number is of your own choosing and must be 4-8 characters in length. Library staff can never see your PIN number because our system will not display it on a screen in any circumstances (it only shows up as a row of asterisks when you type it in).
