Two multimedia workstation with Adaptive Technology are available on a priority basis in the Reference area on the fourth floor.

Because some of our higher level shelving is not universally accessible, we would be happy to retrieve books for persons in wheelchairs or unable to reach. Please provide a list of call numbers to the staff at the Circulation Desk or the Librarian for Accessibility Services. Depending on timing and staff availability retrieval may be immediate, or take up to several hours
Assistance with photocopying is available for students with mobility impairments. Please contact the Circulation desk or the University’s Accessibility Services.
American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters
Students requiring an ASL-English interpreter when visiting the library or for an appointment with a librarian may contact Tessa Rogowski at or text 204.228.0187 to make arrangements.
Group Study Rooms
There are two quiet group study rooms available on the fourth floor which may be booked for two hours at a time. Please visit our Study Spaces and Room Bookings page for more information.
Physical accessibility in the Library
The Library entrance is on the fourth floor of Centennial Hall, 515 Portage Avenue. Elevators to the fourth floor are available on the street level.
Access to the main stacks and periodicals on the fifth floor is available via an elevator inside the Library.
Two sets of accessible washrooms are available the fifth floor.
A wheelchair-accessible printer is available on the fourth floor.
Priority access workstations for persons in wheelchairs or mobility devices are available on the fourth floor.
Where the library building, furniture or facilities restrict access or movement, please do not hesitate to ask for assistance.
The Library welcomes persons with disabilities who are accompanied by a service animal. While visiting the library, it is the responsibility of the person with a service animal to control the animal at all times.

In Case of Emergency
During a fire alarm, do not use the elevator. Take refuge on an emergency exit stairwell landing. If you have a mobile phone, dial 204.786.6666 to speak to campus Security Services to let them know your location and situation.
