Library Departments



Administration is responsible for the overall organization, strategic development, and ongoing mission of the Library.


Acquisitions is responsible for the purchase of Library resources and materials.

Archives and Records Centre

The Archives and Record Centre houses the University Archives, Rare Book Collection and the library's microforms collection.

Circulation Services

Staff members are available at the circulation desk to assist you with borrowing materials.


Collections supports the management and maintenance of the Library's information resources.

InterLibrary Loan

The InterLibrary Loan service provides access to material not held in the University of Winnipeg Library. This service is available to the students and the faculty and staff with valid library cards.


The Metadata department provides descriptive records of all materials held by the library. Please contact the department to report a cataloguing error.

Reference Services

The library provides services to assist students and faculty members with their research and instruction.

Course Reserves

Course Reserves are materials set aside by an instructor for a short loan period to ensure every student in their course has a fair opportunity to access assigned readings.


The Library Systems unit provides support for the overall support and maintenance of the library’s information technology infrastructure.
