New Library Course Reserve System

Mon. Apr. 24, 2017

Today, April 24th, the existing library course reserve pages will be phased out as the UWinnipeg Library launches its new course reserve system, Ares, which will streamline the reserves process and ensure that all course readings are distributed in accordance with the University’s Copyright Policy. The Library is launching Ares in the Spring to minimize the impact on instructors and students, and to ensure that the system will be ready to handle larger volumes of reserve requests for the Fall.

The new Ares interface will allow course instructors to submit their own reserve items or link to library materials, be they print, digital or multimedia, and keep track of the progress of their requests. Unlike the present system, Ares may be integrated with Nexus, allowing an enhanced and seamless experience for students, with added features like “favourites” lists.  Step-by-step instructions and tips for using Ares may be found here

We thank you for your patience during this transitional period. If you have questions about the new system please do not hesitate to contact Library staff at
