Early Career Researcher Day
Tue. Jan. 28, 2020
Convocation Hall, University of Winnipeg
February 27, 2020; 9AM-3PM
Early Career Researcher Day, jointly offered by the University of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba, brings emerging researchers together with experienced grant writers and funding experts to interactively explore the research lifecycle.
Through info sessions, panels and practical workshops, participants will cover a wide range of topics that span the research lifecycle, including funder mandates and priorities (focus is on NSERC and SSHRC), knowledge mobilization, equity, diversity and inclusion, data management planning, ethics, contracts, and publishing. ECRs will share their research with others and jointly develop original research project ideas in order to engage with the entire research lifecycle.
This event is a unique opportunity to:
- Learn first-hand about funder mandates and priorities from those who work with them or represent them directly.
- Create new partnerships between early career researchers in Manitoba.
- Write a grant application that is not just a good idea, but also conveys feasibility and competence.
- This event is aimed at Early Career Researchers, but anyone interested is welcome to attend. For those whose schedules don’t permit a full day, please feel free to RSVP to the morning or the afternoon session.
No cost to attendees. Lunch is provided.
Please RSVP, including any accommodations and/or dietary requests by February 14th, 2020.
