Job Posting: Digital Infrastructure Librarian

We're inviting applications for the position of Digital Infrastructure Librarian. This is a continuing track (permanent) appointment expected to commence on August 1, 2022 or soon thereafter, subject to final budgetary approval. The Digital Infrastructure Librarian will be appointed as a Librarian Member of the University of Winnipeg Faculty Association (http://www.uwfa.ca).  

Position Summary

Reporting to the Dean of the Library, the Digital Infrastructure Librarian provides vision, leadership, and planning for the library’s digital and technology portfolio. This role leads the library systems team, maintains existing infrastructure, explores new solutions, and shepherds digital projects to completion. The Digital Infrastructure Librarian will be instrumental in the next stage of a planned library renewal, working with other campus technology units to ensure a robust, flexible, and future-ready digital infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will possess a user-centered perspective and an understanding of the ways accessibility, diversity, and inclusion are shaped by and expressed through this portfolio. The Digital Infrastructure Librarian is collaborative, views library services holistically, and appreciates how digital technology shapes the greater academic experience at UWinnipeg.
