February is Black History Month, a time to honour the contributions, achievements and experiences of Black people.
The UWinnipeg library and archives are great starting places to learn more about the history of Black communities. This month, we encourage you to:
- Explore the Archives BIPOC Collections. They include materials like the Congress of Black Women of Manitoba Inc. fonds - an extensive collection of records and history of Black women in Manitoba.
- Check the library’s reading guides on topics such as Black Lives Matter, Colonization, and Race and Racialization.
- Borrow a book from our Black History Month display.
- Read an ebook or watch one of the videos from the following list.
