Love Data Week 2025
Mon. Feb. 10, 2025

Join us for an information session and discussion on data safeguarding
In celebration of Love Data Week 2025, the Library and Research Office have partnered to offer an online information session and discussion on February 13th (12:30–1:30 p.m.) on the ongoing data rescue efforts in the United States.
Data Rescue in the US: What can be learned in the Canadian context?
Since January 2025, US government websites, datasets, and preprints are actively being removed from government websites and repositories. This session will highlight what can be learned from this data purge as we think about preparing for potential data losses in Canada and will offer tools and resources for best practices in data safeguarding (open licensing, webpage archiving, data curation etc.).
Presented by Brianne Selman, Scholarly Communications and Copyright Librarian & Jaime Orr, Research Data Management Librarian.
