Craft & Cast Club Launch

Fri. Sep. 12, 2025

Craft & Cast Club

Celebrate the launch of the UW Library's podcast and craft club.

In the spirit of Truth & Reconciliation, join Librarians Jaime Orr and Dee Wallace, on Monday, September 22 in room 1A02, following the Survivor’s Flag Raising, for the launch of the Library’s monthly Craft & Cast Club.

The Club is open to faculty, staff and students of the University of Winnipeg. We will meet every month to do crafts and listen to This Place, a CBC podcast based on the acclaimed graphic novel anthology, This Place: 150 Years Retold (available in print and ebook format at the Library).

To celebrate the launch of this special podcast and craft club, Métis scholar Celiese Lypka will be present to talk about embodied learning and kitchen table pedagogy. We will listen to the first episode of the podcast: "Annie of Red River", and a mediated discussion will follow.

Some beginner beading kits, coloring books, pencil crayons, yarn, crochet hooks and knitting needles will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Feel free to bring your own supplies for your craft of choice (beading, coloring, knitting, sewing, crochet, etc.). Refreshments will also be provided.
