Inside a Thousand Eyes: the work and impact of Sharron Proulx Turner

Celebrating Sharron Proulx-Turner

October is 2SLGBTQ+ History Month, an opportunity to celebrate and learn about the history and contributions of 2SLGBTQ+ individuals and communities. To mark this month, the University of Winnipeg Library, the Two-Spirit Archives and the Department of Women's and Gender Studies are inviting you to celebrate Sharron Proulx-Turner's writing, her contributions to the Two-Spirit community, and her family's donation to the Two-Spirit Archives.

Inside a Thousand Eyes: The work and impact of Sharron Proulx-Turner

The late Sharron Proulx-Turner was a Two-Spirit Métis poet and author, an Elder, a Sweat Lodge keeper, a Sundancer, a mother, and a grandmother. Sharron’s children, Barbra Horsefall and Graham Angus, will join us to celebrate Sharron’s writing and her contributions to the Two-Spirit community. We will also be celebrating Barb and Graham’s donations of material items to the Two-Spirit Archives.

The event will take place on Wednesday, October 22, in Convocation Hall at the University of Winnipeg. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. The formal program will run from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m., and light refreshments will be offered. It is free and open to all. Registration is appreciated but not required.
