The Craft & Cast Club

The Craft & Cast Club is back!
The Craft & Cast Club is a unique opportunity for students, staff, and faculty at the University of Winnipeg to relax while learning. The club meets on the last Friday of every month, in room 1A02, from 12:30 to 1:20 p.m. Each session is an invitation to practice your craft of choice (drawing, beading, embroidery, knitting, etc.) while listening to a new episode of the CBC podcast, This Place.
Based on the graphic novel anthology (available in print and ebook format at the UW Library), This Place is a 10-part journey through 150 years of Indigenous resistance and resilience. Through dramatizations and interviews, along with your host and time-guide storyteller Rosanna Deerchild, the series reveals the heroes, battles, triumphs and traditions which live outside and beyond the national story we have been taught ... to learn, to share, and to heal the future of "this place" we call Canada.
Each episode is a standalone, which allows you to choose which sessions you want to attend and join us even if you haven't been able to come to previous Craft & Cast Club events.
