Library Pickup Service

Though the facility will remain closed throughout the remainder of 2020, the Library is preparing a pickup service for faculty, students, and staff to retrieve books during the fall term. This will occur in two phases:

Beginning August 18th, faculty, staff, and graduate students will be able to pickup print items from the collection. This initial phase is intended to trial the process and give faculty and instructors access to materials needed for course planning. Visit library.uwinnipeg.ca/pickup for full details.
In mid-September all service will switch to a smart locker system that will be installed near the main floor escalators in Centennial Hall. At this point service will be expanded include to undergraduate and collegiate students. The process and timing for this phase will depend on campus access policies and installation timelines, which are still being developed.

While the aim is to have access for students, faculty, and staff as early as possible, it may be necessary to adjust service in the event that policies change, campus re-enters complete lockdown, or demand greatly exceeds capacity. Use of the Syllabus Service is strongly encouraged to ensure that students can access course materials for the fall term; print scanning of library materials is available as part of this service, subject to applicable copyright restrictions.

Please note that due to recommended quarantine periods, campus policies, and reduced staff access, borrowing policies have been updated to include the following changes, limitations , and expectations:

A request limit of 10 items per person for all borrowers
All loans will be due in December
Items currently due on September 15^th will be renewed until December
Item recalls will be disabled
4 day quarantine between item circulations (expect lengthened turnaround periods)
Overdue fines will be suspended
