Launch of “Copyright at the University.”

Mon. May. 3, 2021

We're pleased to announce the launch of a new educational video about copyright in Nexus. Produced by Media Services and the Library’s Copyright Office, the video provides helpful guidance on the use of copyrighted materials in teaching and highlights available supports provided through the Library.

Eleven minutes in duration and applicable to both remote and in-class teaching, the video is available in all course instructors’ Nexus accounts, in the course entitled, “Copyright at the University.” An accompanying FAQ is contained within. In accordance with the University’s Copyright Policy, the video is required viewing for anyone delivering course instruction or distributing course materials in Nexus. Course owners are asked to view the video in the term in which their course is offered and once every two years thereafter.

Questions regarding the video may be addressed to copyrightoffice@uwinnipeg.ca. The Copyright Office was established in 2012 to ensure strong copyright supports for faculty and students. The Copyright Office also helps members of the University community engage with their rights and responsibilities as creators and consumers of copyrighted material.
