Sam Popowich
Digital Infrastructure Librarian
Sam Popowich [he/him] the head of the library's IT team and responsible for digital infrastructure related to organization, access, publishing, and dissemination of library resources. He has previously worked at the University of Manitoba, University of Ottawa, and University of Alberta. In addition to a library degree, Sam holds a master of arts degree in music and cultural theory and PhD in political science. Besides being responsible for the English and Political Science departments and managing library technology, Sam does research in political theory and the politics of librarianship. He is the author of a number of research articles and two books, Confronting the Democratic Discourse of Librarianship: A Marxist Approach (2019) and Solving Names: Metaphysics and Worldliness in Librarianship (forthcoming 2024).
