Renovation Updates
The Library will undergo a number of renovations this fall. Work on the 5th floor is currently underway; major disruptions to the 4th floor are expected to begin in September and last through the term.
Updates will include:
- Renovated washrooms and additional study rooms.
- A modified entry and redesign of the library service desk area.
- The creation of a library classroom and events space.
- Fresh paint, new flooring, and lighting.
Pardon Our Dust! During construction, many spaces, resources, and services will be altered and/or temporarily unavailable. Areas being renovated may be dirty, noisy, or inaccessible. This page will be updated regularly to provide a general idea of what you can expect - we anticipate that last-minute and unforeseen issues will arise.
Current Status and Affected Areas
Last Update: 2026-09-08
- There is no seating on the 4th floor and reduced seating on the 5th floor; we recommend using the quieter areas and mezzanines on the 5th floor.
- The East Study Room is no longer available.
- The service desk will be relocated near to the main staircase on the 4th floor.
- Print reserves are available at the relocated service desk.
- Library computers and printing will be unavailable for the duration of construction. Students should use the Uplink Lab as an alternative.
- All washrooms in the library are unavailable; please use those located outside the library in Centennial Hall or Manitoba Hall.
- The DVD collection is unavailable for the duration of construction.
- The reference collection has been relocated to the 5th floor atrium.
- We can no longer accept cash payments; debit and credit cards are still accepted.
- All 4th floor book-return slots are inaccessible. Books can be returned through the slot near the Centennial main entrance near the Security Office or directly to staff in the library.
