About UWinnipeg Borealis

Borealis, the Canadian Dataverse Repository, is a bilingual, multi-disciplinary, secure, Canadian research data repository supported by academic libraries and research institutions across Canada. Like scholarly publication repositories – such as UWinnipeg’s WinnSpace – Borealis is an archiving tool that preserves UWinnipeg’s research data for the long term. Benefits of data sharing include:

  • Fulfilling grant and/or journal requirements
  • Increasing the visibility of research
  • Global, multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Data security and long-term preservation
