UW Hosted Scholarly Journals
Scholarly Journals
"Scholars need the means to launch a new generation of journals committed to open access, and to help existing journals that elect to make the transition to open access..." (Budapest Open Access Initiative, 2002)
The University of Winnipeg Library uses Open Journal Systems (OJS) for hosting current production of, and for providing access to the archives of, these scholarly journals:
- Annual Review of Interdisciplinary Justice Research (IJR)
- Canadian Journal of Practice-based Research in Theatre (CJPRT)
- Canadian Journal of Urban Research
- Crossings
- International Journal for Talent Development and Creativity (IJTDC)
- Journal of Mennonite Studies (JMS)
- Pawaatamihk: A Journal of Métis Thinkers
The online presence for many of these journals was established in large part due to funding from the Synergies project and the tireless dedication of many staff in the Library and journal editors and managers. Synergies was a Canadian Foundation for Innovation funded project and a not-for-profit platform for the publication and the dissemination of research results in social sciences and humanities published in Canada including many Canadian Social Science & Humanities journals. The University of Winnipeg was the Manitoba node, which was part of the Prairie node for the Synergies project.
