Land Acknowledgement

The Library sits on Treaty 1 Territory, the traditional territory of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and the homeland of the Métis Nation. 

Following extensive campus-wide consultation with faculty, staff and students, the Indigenous Advisory Circle and the Aboriginal Student Services Centre, the Library Renewal Plan envisions the Library as a space for learning, gathering and dialogue that furthers UWinnipeg’s strategic commitment to Unionization.
