Visitor Access
The library entrance is located on the 4th floor of Centennial Hall.
The most common access point is through the south entrance of Centennial Hall next to the security booth. Take the escalators or elevator up to the 4th floor and turn south, following the signs that point to the library.
Building Access
Access to Centennial Hall and all attached buildings is managed by campus security, not the library. The level of public access may vary depending on the time of day, academic term, or public health policies currently in place.
Evening and Weekend Access
The University of Winnipeg campus is closed to the public weekday evenings after 6:00pm and on weekends. Those wanting to visit the library during these hours must provide photo ID along with either a UW library card or appointment confirmation to campus security at the main entrance of Centennial Hall.
Library cards are issued to members of the public who register for library Community Accounts.
Appointments can be booked through the Library Visitor Request Form. Requests must be submitted at least one business day in advance.
Request forms are not necessary to access the Smart Lockers or Centennial Hall entrance book-drop.
Patrons already in the library before 6:00pm do not need to leave or book an appointment and may continue working in the space.
Service points and most computers are located on the 4th floor. Majority of our books and quiet areas are on the 5th floor, along with two washroom locations.
The 5th floor is divided into three sound zones to meet your needs; a Collaborative Zone for group work and conversation, a Quiet Zone for whispered discussion when necessary, and a Silent Zone for no talking.
The library does not permit phone/video calls. All audio must be played through headphones.
