Computers & Printing
Be advised that the Library's computer lab is not equipped for audio or video conferencing, and Zoom is not available on the Library computers.
The library 4th floor offers a lab space with twenty-eight desktop computers. Three are located at a standing station. There are two additional computers on the 5th floor at the edge of the collaborative zone.
You can browse the full list of programs available on our computers to discover all the desktop productivity software applications, common Web browsers and multimedia viewers the Library gives you access to.
Students, faculty, and staff can log in to computers using their network credentials - UW username and password. If you have forgotten your information, the Technology Sector's Passwords page can guide you, or you can visit their Support Specialists at the Uplink Computer Lab.
Community Patrons can request a Digital Access Pass from the Circulation Desk to log in to computers with a one-time username and password. Valid photo ID or UW Library Card must be presented and the pass grants computer access until it expires 15 minutes before the library closes.
There are three printers located on the library's 4th floor and one black-and white-only printer on the 5th floor in the collaborative zone.
The library provides these services in conjunction with Printing Services, who supply every student, staff, and faculty with a printing ID and password. This is part of the campus-wide Equitrac system.
Students get their login information sent to their UW email by PRINTJOB. Use the Equitrac Request Form to report problems regarding your Equitrac account (unrecognized login, lost funds, etc.)
Money must be added to your printing account through an Equitrac pay machine before any printing can be released or photocopies made. The library houses an Equitrac machine next to the 4th floor printers. The machine accepts cash and most debit cards. Please come prepared. Costs start at 10.5 cents per black-and-white page.
Printing must be done from library computers. Our printers are not set up to connect to personal devices. If your documents are on a personal device, please save them on a USB drive or email them to yourself.
Scan-to-email can be done from our printers at no cost and without a printing login.
Community Patrons can access printing and photocopying services through the temporary printing login found on a Digital Access Pass, requestable at the Circulation Desk with valid photo ID or UW Library Card. There are no refunds for printing.

The University does not offer public or open-guest WiFi.
The University of Winnipeg is part of Eduroam. Students, staff, and faculty can connect to the Eduroam network using their UW credentials - email address and password - while on campus and at any other post-secondary campus around the world that uses Eduroam.
Community Patrons can get online using library computers via a Digital Access Pass. While using our computers, guests have access to certain e-resources through the library website's homepage.
Visitors from another post-secondary Eduroam affiliate who require data to access the Eduroam app should see a Technology Service Center (TSC) Client Specialist at the Uplink computer lab on Centennial Hall 4th floor or check out their How Do I? page.

The library subscribes to many e-resources such as databases, e-journals, and e-books for the benefit of UW faculty, staff, and students.
These subscription resources can be accessed from any computer or personal device while on the University of Winnipeg network.
For off-campus or remote access, the library proxy server provides this connection for all registered UW members who sign in with their network credentials - username and password - when prompted.
Proxy server login prompts will resemble the following link - https://uwinnipeg.idm.oclc.org/login?url=
